Persepsi Budaya Masyarakat Desa Gunung Melayu Dalam Membangun Harmonisasi

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out what the cultural perceptions of the people of Gunung Melayu Village are in building harmonization. The theory used is intercultural communication theory, perception theory. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The population was 9 (nine) informants consisting of 6 (six) main informants and 3 (three) triangulation informants. The results of the research show that in the process of intercultural communication, the people of Gunung Melayu Village both understand the ethnic groups in Gunung Melayu Village. When you meet a different tribe you use Indonesian, when you meet someone from the same tribe you use the regional language. The cultural perception of the Gunung Melayu Village community's worldview has a significant influence on intercultural communication. Values and belief systems become integral to the cultural structure, which also contains norms that promote good values. The people of Gunung Melayu Village use symbols in intercultural communication, both verbal and non-verbal. The people of Gunung Melayu Village use verbal messages more often than non-verbal messages. Cultural Perceptions of Social Organizations The community views social organizations as having a very important role in preserving culture. The cultural values in Gunung Melayu Village show that harmonization between ethnic groups is very necessary so that harmony can occur.
