Stunting is one of the malnutrition problems characterized by the condition where a toddler's height according to their age is shorter compared to normal toddlers. According to UNICEF's survey in 2022, 22.3 percent of toddlers suffered from stunting, with 22 countries, including Indonesia, classified as 'very high' stunting prevalence. According to the Ministry of Health report, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2022 was 21.6 percent, classified as high. Toddlers experienced stunting 29.6 percent higher than infants at 20.6 percent. West Pasaman Regency has the highest prevalence of stunting at 35.5 percent. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal characteristics (age, education, knowledge, and income) and parenting patterns (feeding practices, personal hygiene, utilization of health services) with the occurrence of stunting in children 24-59 months in the Sukamenanti Health Center's working area in 2024. This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design, where the sample size is 119 people and taken using simple random sampling technique. Based on the bivariate results using the chi-square test with a significance level of α=0.005, it shows that there is a significant relationship between knowledge (0.003), income (0.019), feeding practices (0.001), personal hygiene (0.001) with the occurrence of stunting in children aged 24-59 in the Sukamenanti Health Center's working area in 2024. It is expected that health workers at the Sukamenanti Health Center will conduct counseling on stunting prevention efforts, differences in nutritional status between stunted and healthy children, and improve feeding practices, enhance personal hygiene for toddlers and maternal self while still utilizing health services. It is hoped that the community will pay more attention to meeting the nutritional needs of toddlers in both quantity and quality, parenting patterns, and prevention of infectious diseasesen_US
