prevalence of MDR TB is 50.8 percent, in North Sumatra province it is 35 percent,
while in RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan 55 cases. This study aims to determine the
relationship of knowledge, attitudes and tuberculosis preventive actions with the
incidence of multidrug resistant tuberculosis at RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan
hospital 2024. The type of research used is analytical research with a cross
sectional design. The population of this study were all outpatients at the pulmonary
polyclinic, DOTS TB polyclinic, and MDR TB polyclinic at Drs Regional Hospital.
H. Amri Tambunan in 2024. The total research sample was 90 patients taken using
accidental sampling technique. Univariate data was analyzed descriptively and
bivariate data was analyzed using the chi-square test. The research results showed
that the highest proportion based on the age group >55 years was (53.3%), male
was (53.3%), high school/equivalent was (53.3%), Batak tribe was (44.4%), Islamic
religion was (64.4%). %), work is (52.2%), the role of the PMO is (50%),
knowledge is lacking (63.3%), attitude is lacking (54.4%), and tuberculosis
prevention measures are lacking (53.3%). The results of the chi – square test show
that there is a relationship between the variables age (p<0.05), gender (p<0.05),
knowledge (p<0.05), attitude (p<0.05), action ( p<0.05) with the incidence of
multidrug resistant tuberculosis, while the variables that were not related to the
incidence of multidrug resistant tuberculosis were education (p>0.05) and
employment (p>0.05). Patients are advised to increase knowledge regarding
tuberculosis and make efforts to prevent tuberculosis. Hospitals are advised to
