    Abstract
The physical condition of the residential rooms in Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center which does not meet health requirements can allow skin health complaints to occur in prisoners. The Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center Polyclinic Report from October 2023 to February 2024 explained that the highest health complaints experienced by prisoners were skin health complaints. This type of research is an observational study that is analytical in nature with a cross sectional research design that aims to analyze the physical conditions of residential rooms and personal hygiene with skin health complaints prisoners. The research sample was 83 people using the slovin formula and the sampling technique was simple random sampling. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate with Chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of prisoners in Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center experienced skin health complaints as many as 42 people (50.6%). This is due to the physical conditions of the residential rooms, namely occupancy density, lighting, humidity, quantity of clean water and continuity of clean water in detention centers that do not meet health requirements. Of the 72 prisoners with poor personal hygiene, most (58.3%) prisoners experienced skin health complaints. The conclusion of this study is that the variable physical condition of the residential room is significantly related to skin health complaints in prisoners in Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center and the p value 0.002 (p <0.05). Personal hygiene variables in prisoners are significantly related to skin health complaints in prisoners in Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center and obtained a p value= 0.001 (p <0.05). Suggestions to Sidikalang Class IIB Detention Center need to improve the physical condition of residential rooms, namely expanding residential rooms or adding residential rooms in order to adjust to occupancy capacity and maintain the sanitation of the detention house environment so that it remains clean and healthy and for prisoners to always maintain environmental hygiene and personal hygiene properly in order to avoid various health complaints, especially skin health complaints
