dc.description.abstractA distribution route is a distribution delivery path that is made with consideration of mileage, conveyance capacity, and shipping capacity so that the minimum distribution costs incurred. JNE Medan main branch is engaged in logistics delivery. Until now, JNE Medan main branch has 14 routes with 32 delivery points. Of the 14 existing routes, there are drop points that are passed by several routes. So the company needs to evaluate the routes used today. This problem arises as a result of increasing the amount of shipping capacity over time. The general objective of this final project research is to obtain alternative distribution routes in the process of distributing goods to analyze route improvements by comparing company routes and alternative routes obtained using the Saving Matrix and Clarke & Wright Savings methods. The results showed that the alternative distribution route using the Saving Matrix method had an increase in cost of 5.4% of the original cost. Meanwhile, the Wright & Clarke Saving method decreased distribution costs by 3.6% per day. As a proposed improvement, the alternative distribution route using the Wright & Clarke Saving method has 11 routes and a savings of 3.6%.en_US
