dc.description.abstract | Ammonium chloride (Sal ammoniac) is an inorganic compound with the formula NH4Cl obtained by reacting ammonium sulfate with sodium chloride through various processes. The main objective of this plant design is to implement the discipline of chemical engineering and to be the initial information in the design of ammonium chloride manufacturing plant. Pre-design of ammonium chloride production plant from ammonium sulfate-sodium chloride using double decomposition reaction with capacity of 30,000 tons/year. The main process in this pre-designed plant consists of four stages, namely the raw material preparation stage, the product formation stage, the product purification stage, and the product storage stage. The ammonium chloride manufacturing plant from ammonium sulfate and sodium chloride is planned to be established in Manyarejo Village, Manyar District, Gresik Regency, East Java Province with a land area of 9,540 m2, the required workforce is 200 people with the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT) led by a director with a line and staff organization system. For the establishment and operation of the factory requires investment capital of IDR 1,076,391,393,496 and production costs of IDR 732,755,109,265. Based on the feasibility analysis, this plant has a BEP of 21.35%, ROI of 31.27%, POT for 3.20 years, RON of 52.12%, and IRR of 24.61%. From the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the pre-design of the plant to produce ammonium chloride from ammonium sulfate and sodium chloride by the double decomposition process is feasible | en_US |
