Utilization of family planning services at the Kecamatan Gunungsitoli public health
center is still relatively low, with active family planning participant coverage at
32.36%. This research uses a quantitative method with an analytical survey design
employing a cross-sectional approach to explain the influence of independent
variables characteristics of couples of childbearing age and health services on the
dependent variable, which is the utilization of family planning services in the
working area of the Kecamatan Gunungsitoli public health center. The sample
consisted of 100 couples of childbearing age, selected using purposive sampling.
Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using logistic regression
tests. The results showed that 34 respondents (34%) utilized family planning
services, while 64 respondents (64%) did not. Based on the multivariate test results,
variables such as parity (p=0.048), knowledge (p=0.003), and availability of health
facilities (p=0.003) had an influence, whereas age (p=0.255), education level
(p=0.167), occupation (p=0.090), birth spacing (p=0.710), perception (p=0.785),
health worker services (p=0.534), and accessibility (p=0.218) did not significantly
influence the utilization of family planning services in the working area of the
Kecamatan Gunungsitoli public health center. The most influential variable on the
utilization of family planning services in this area was knowledge, with an Exp (B)
value of 6.214. Couples of childbearing age who have never utilized family
planning services and those who have but did not continue are encouraged to
increase their knowledge on the importance of utilizing family planning services
and to participate in outreach programs conducted by the public health center
