    Abstract
Muskuloskeletal complaints are complaints on the parts of the skeletal muscles felt by a person ranging from very mild to very painful complaints. Nurses are health workers who have the highest risk level for muskuloskeletal complaints because they are the largest group working in hospitals and provide nursing services for 24 hours in hospitals. This study aims to determine the relationship between work posture and workload with musculoskeletal complaints on emergency room nurses of H. Adam Malik Medan general hospital in 2024. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sample size was 44 nurses of male and female gender, with sampling using the total sampling method. Data processing was performed with univariate and bivariate analysis using the colleration spearmen test. The results showed that 90.9% of nurses experienced muskuloskeletal complaints, 47.7% of nurses with high-risk work postures experienced muskuloskeletal complaints. The workload for nurses with a normal workload is 15 people (34.1%), the workload for nurses with a workload that is not excessive is 11 people (25%) and the workload for nurses with a workload that requires job redesign is 18 people (40.9%). %). The statistical test results showed that there was a relationship between work posture and muskuloskeletal complaints (p value = 0.016) <0.05 and there was a relationship between workload and muskuloskeletal complaints (p value = 0. 010) <0.05 in emergency room nurses of H. Adam Malik Medan general hospital. It is recommended that nurses improve their working posture when treating patients with their backs not bent, keep their spine straight and do the prescribed stretches every 3 hours
