The Relationship Between Job Stress and Job Satisfaction Among Employees in the Office Department of Aulia Hospital Pekanbaru in 2024
Abstract
The current era of business competition is becoming increasingly tight, development becomes crucial to maintain the existence of the company. Human resources play a central role in business planning, including the evaluation and development of human resources to enhance organizational value-added. However, human resources are individuals who have feelings and expectations that can influence their perspective on their work and can impact job satisfaction. Job dissatisfaction can arise due to job stress, which creates physical and psychological imbalances. Job satisfaction is influenced by many factors, including job stress. The aim of this study is to examine whether there is a relationship between job stress and job satisfaction among employees in the office department of Aulia Hospital Pekanbaru in 2024. The research was conducted using a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach involving 41 employees using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through job satisfaction and job stress questionnaires and then analyzed using Spearman correlation test. The results showed a highly significant relationship between job stress and job satisfaction among employees in the office department of Aulia Hospital Pekanbaru, with a correlation coefficient value of -0.633 with p value < 0.001. This indicates a strong inverse relationship between job stress and job satisfaction, meaning that as job stress levels increase, job satisfaction tends to decrease, and vice versa. There is a need to consolidate the existing management system that can affect employee job satisfaction and job stress. Conduct surveys to understand employees' perceptions regarding this matter. Additionally, it is important to communicate openly with supervisors and colleagues about work-related issues to strengthen good working relationships
