dc.description.abstract | According to WHO (World Health Organization) hypertension is a condition where blood vessels ≥ 140/90 mmHg. The global prevalence of hypertension 2019 (33.1%). This study aims to look at the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in the age group 46 - 65 years at the Glugur Darat Health Center, Medan City. This study used a cross sectional research design. The study sample of 118 people was taken using accidental sampling. Individual characteristics were measured by questionnaire, physical activity was measured using physical activity level, obesity was measured by digital scales, and sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The proportion of hypertension incidence in glugur darat health center is (60.2%), most respondents are in the age group 56 - 65 years (51.7%), with the proportion of female gender amounting to (69.5%), with the dominance of respondents having a history of hypertension by (51.7%), the largest tribe is the Batak tribe by (47.3%), the average respondent has less physical activity as much as (65.3%) with the proportion of respondents who are obese by (54.2%), and the proportion of poor sleep quality of respondents amounting to (66.9%). The results of the bivariate test using chi-square obtained (p <0.05) means that there is a significant relationship between age, physical activity, obesity, and sleep quality with the incidence of hypertension, but in gender and family history (p>0.05) means that there is no relationship with the incidence of hypertension. It is recommended to the community to be able to do physical activity regularly and regularly. People who have hypertension, it is expected to take medicine regularly. and to the health center is expected to be able to facilitate the community to be able to do physical activity such as routine gymnastics | en_US |
