Analisis Kadar Enzim Kolinesterase dalam Darah Petani Penyemprot di Dusun Sunde Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Tahun 2024
Analysis of Cholinesterase Enzyme Levels in the Blood of Spraying Farmers in Sunde Sub-Village Teluk Mengkudu Sub-District Serdang Bedagai District in 2024
Abstract
According to Law No. 1 of 1970 on Occupational Safety, the purpose of
occupational safety and health is to prevent accidents and illnesses as a result of
work and to improve the well-being and productivity of workers. As of August 2020,
the largest workforce in Indonesia is in the agricultural sector. The labor force of
farmers in Indonesia, especially spray farmers, is still using pesticides to eradicate
pests. Repeated exposure to these pesticides can pose a higher risk to farmers'
health, especially for those who routinely spray. Spray farmers in Sunde Sub-
Village, Teluk Mengkudu Sub-District, Serdang Bedagai District, used insecticides
such as organophosphate and carbamate to eradicate pests. Pesticides potentially
expose spray farmers to poisoning, disrupting the blood's cholinesterase enzyme
metabolism. The purpose of the research is to analyse the level of the enzyme
cholinesterase in the blood of the spray farmers. The research method is descriptive
with cross-sectional approaches as well as to analyse blood tests on spray farmers
using a cholinesterase tool kit. The study used a total population of 10 spray
farmers. The results of the study showed that the entire male population and the
working age of 10-55 years with the age range 28-73 years, the whole spray farmer
does not use self-protection equipment fully, 4 spray farms do spraying more than
2 times in a week, the entire sprayer farmer follows a maximum length of spraying
4 hours in a day done before 11:00 PM and after 15:00 PM, all sprayer farmers do
wind-directional spraying, and all sprayers have cholesterol enzyme levels in the
normal category, which is 87.5%-100%. Based on the results, it is recommended
that sprayers use additional protection equipment such as gloves, boots, and
glasses when spraying, as well as reduce the frequency of the spraying to a
maximum of twice a week
