Abstract
HIV/AIDS is one of the most common infectious diseases throughout the world with 53% of sufferers being women and girls. In Indonesia the number of women infected with HIV continues to increase. More than 90% of HIV cases in children are caused by mother-to-child transmission. As a countermeasure, the Triple Elimination program as stated in Minister of Health Regulation no. 52 of 2017 concerning Elimination of Transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Syphilis and Hepatitis B from Mother to Child. However, utilization of HIV testing at Tiga Juhar Public Health Center has not reached the target of 25%. This study aims to determine the factors related to the use of HIV testing in triple elimination program for pregnant women at Tiga Juhar Public Health Center. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study was mothers who had babies up to 6 months old who during their pregnancy had 57 complete or incomplete Antenatal Care (ANC) visits at the Tiga Juhar Public Health Center. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test (α = 0.05). The results of this research obtained the variables knowledge (p-value = 0.0001), attitude (p- value = 0.0001), support from health workers (p-value = 0.0001), family/husband support (p-value = 0.0001) and perception of vulnerability (p-value = 0.024). The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between all the variables studied and the use of HIV testing in pregnant women. It is hoped that the Deli Serdang Health Service and the Tiga Juhar Public Health Center will work together to provide effective education and counseling regarding HIV prevention and early detection efforts in pregnant women to increase the use of HIV testing by pregnant women so that the target is achieved 100%
