Perancangan Toba Dream Cottage di Kabupaten Samosir dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Neo Vernakular

Abstract

This thesis contains an elaboration on the application of neo-vernacular architectural concepts in designing Toba Dream Cottage in Samsosir district. The main aim of this research is to apply the potential of neo-vernacular architecture in creating cottages that not only fulfill functional and aesthetic needs, but are also able to preserve and introduce the local cultural heritage that is applied in the design of Toba Dream Cottage. The research method used involves surveying field conditions and analysis of literature studies. The selection of materials, facades, building shapes, interiors and traditional space patterns are creatively integrated in creating cottages that combine traditional and modern concepts, resulting in harmonization between local traditional and modern cultural values. This research provides insight into the development of the world of architecture in maintaining regional cultural identity while still considering cosmological aspects, normative rules, Toba Batak culture towards the natural and environmental context and technological developments.
