| dc.description.abstract | Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis which thrives in dense, humid environments and is transmitted through the air. The number of people diagnosed with TB globally is 135 cases per 100,000 population, in Indonesia it is 354 cases per 100,000 population, North Sumatra is 125 cases per 100,000 population and Medan City is 108 cases per 100,000 population. Pulmonary tuberculosis is 3 of the 10 health problems with the highest cases in Tanjung Gusta Class 1 Medan Prison. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis infection in prisoners of Tanjung Gusta Class 1 Correctional Institution Medan Year 2024. This research is an analytic quantitative research with cross sectional design. The sample amounted to 84 respondents who were male who were recorded in the medical records of the Pulmonary TB laboratory of the Class 1 Tanjung Gusta Correctional Facility Clinic taken by purposive sampling technique. The results of the study in the form of data collected through questionnaire interviews, measurements, and observations and analyzed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square statistical test with a confidence level of 95% with the basic spss program decision making if the p value> 0.05 then it is stated that the relationship is not significant, if the p value <0.05 then there is a significant relationship. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between age, knowledge, occupancy density, lighting, sputum removal, coughing behavior with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis infection. The suggestion from this study is that Class 1 Medan Correctional Facility needs to immediately implement a tuberculosis prevention strategy and supervise patients and people in contact with patients | en_US |
