    Abstract
    Hypertension is one of the most popular cardiovascular diseases in society. A condition where a person has an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg is called hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension in the world in 2019 according to WHO data reports was 22% and according to the Riskesdas report in 2018 the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia was 34.1%. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship of sociodemographics, obesity and lifestyle with the incidence of hypertension at Pulo Brayan Health Center, Medan City. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The research population was all patients who came for treatment at Pulo Brayan Health Center, Medan City. The total research sample was 96 patients using accidental sampling technique. Univariate data was analyzed descriptively and bivariate data was analyzed using the chi square test. The research results showed that the proportion of hypertension incidents in the Pulo Brayan Community Health Center, Medan City was 57.3%. There was a significant relationship between sociodemographics and the incidence of hypertension seen in age (p=0.012), gender (p=0.033), education (p=0.038). There is a relationship between obesity (p=0.020) and the incidence of hypertension. There is a significant relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension seen in physical activity (p=0.024). There is no relationship between smoking habits (p=0.118) and the incidence of hypertension at Pulo Brayan Health Center, Medan City. For Pulo Brayan Community Health Center can improve health promotion through education regarding the risk factors, dangers and prevention of hypertension using various methods and media as well as providing joint exercise or sports activities for community groups at risk of obesity and hypertension
