    Abstract
    Overcrowding in dormitories can cause skin problems for boarders. Factors that influence the emergence of skin health problems are poor personal hygiene, namely skin hygiene, foot, hand and nail hygiene, hair hygiene, genital hygiene, clothing hygiene, towel hygiene and bed hygiene. This study aims to determine the condition of personal hygiene, basic sanitation and skin complaints on students at Islamic Center Foundation of North Sumatera. This research method is descriptive. The study population was 517 people with a sample of 84 people. Sampling using systematic random sampling method. The results showed that respondents experienced skin health complaints as many as 40 people (47.6%), with the most respondents of female gender as many as 22 people (26.2%), and MTs education level as many as 25 people (29.8%). Basic sanitation that does not meet the requirements include toilets / sanitation, hand washing facilities with soap, waste management sites, waste water management sites and rainwater distribution. The results showed that respondents with good category skin hygiene were 81 people (96.4%), good category foot, hand and nail hygiene were 58 people (69%), good category hair hygiene were 61 people (72.6%), good category genital hygiene were 59 people (70.2%), good category clothing hygiene were 69 people (82.1%), good category towel hygiene were 44 people (52.4%) and good category bed hygiene were 41 people (48.8%). The conclusion of this study is the discovery of skin health complaints at Islamic Center Foundation of North Sumatera. Students are expected to pay more attention to personal hygiene such as skin, feet, hands, nails, hair, genitals, clothing, towels and bedding. The boarding school is expected to provide basic sanitation facilities that meet the requirements including toilets / sanitation, hand washing facilities with soap, waste management sites, waste water management sites and rainwater distribution
