This study aims to understand and analyze the role of single mothers in supporting family welfare in Dusun IV, Tanjung Morawa B Village, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach, focusing on single mothers in Tanjung Morawa B Village. The objective of this research is to uncover facts and truths related to their lives. The method used is descriptive approach to observe and document structured information. The research informants consist of the village head, head of Dusun IV, and several single mothers who work to earn a living outside the home. Informant selection method uses purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review. Data analysis was done inductively using the interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. The data analysis stages include data collection related to the dual role of single mothers in maintaining family welfare, data selection, and inference process to identify research issues. The role of single parents in households requires good strategies and approaches to maintain a balance between household chores, child-rearing, and personal needs. Strategies used include involving children in household tasks, seeking support from family and friends, and managing challenges of fatigue and limited time. As a single mother, it is important to provide the necessary attention, support, and opportunities in this dual role. In facing the absence of a father figure, seeking support from others, building a safe and supportive environment, and creating diverse and enriching experiences for children are steps taken. Single mothers in Tanjung Morawa B Village face stigmatization and social challenges, but they remain steadfast and focused on the interests of their children. They employ economic strategies such as strict monthly budgeting and seeking assistance from the government or non-governmental organizations. It is hoped that support programs can provide significant assistance to single parents. The role of single parent women in supporting family welfare in Hamlet IV, Tanjung Morawa B Village, Deli Serdang Regency, is that single parent women have a dual role as breadwinners and single mothers. They carry out various types of work or businesses to generate the income needed to meet the needs of their children. Single parent women are also responsible for meeting the needs and providing attention to their children in the domestic domain.
