In this research, the researcher addresses the perceptions of first-time voters of Chinese ethnicity who are participating in the 2024 presidential election. This research focuses specifically on first-time voters who are ethnic Chinese SMA Mtehodist-2 Medan. The research method used is a quantitative research method. Quantitative research conducts research using data collection through questionnaires. Therefore, in theory, quantitative research is research where the data is carried out using numbers and analyzed using statistical techniques. The aim of quantitative research is to be able to obtain an object from the research problem. Quantitative writing contains data collection from questionnaires that will be distributed to students at Methodist-2 Medan High School. Based on research results, ethnic Chinese beginner voters at Methodist-2 Medan already understand politics and will immediately participate in the 2024 presidential election. Based on research, ethnic Chinese beginner voters at Methodist 2 Medan High School already have democratic awareness. This can be seen from the calculation results that the perception of ethnic Chinese beginner voters in the Medan Methodist-2 Private High School is 69.37% and then 83.05% of political participation, so it can be concluded that perception influences political participation, especially among ethnic Chinese beginner voters in Medan Private Methodist-2 High School.
