Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV2). COVID-19 infection causes an inflammatory reaction characterized by an increase in the Neutrophil- Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and C-Reactive Protein (CRP). This study aims to determine the relationship between NLR and CRP on the severity of COVID-19 patients treated at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. This research is a retrospective study with an observational analytical approach with a cross- sectional design and was conducted at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan over the period 1 January to 1 December 2022. The research sample was all patients undergoing treatment in the COVID-19 isolation ward at RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan aged 18 years and over who tested positive for the COVID-19 PCR swab and underwent NLR and CRP examinations when he first entered treatment at Haji Adam Malik Hospital. A total of 98 patients tested positive for COVID-19 PCR swabs with 49 moderate cases, 32 severe cases and 17 mild cases. Increases in NLR and CRP have a significant effect on the severity of COVID-19 (p <0.001). Comorbid diseases such as diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease were not associated with increased NLR and CRP (p > 0.005). Patients with a history of vaccination had significantly increased NLR (p = 0.01) and CRP (p = 0.001)en_US
