This research examines zeolite-chitosan based adsorbents with the addition of palm oil boiler ash to absorb heavy metals (Cu, Cr, and Cd) in wastewater with the aim of analyzing the effect of palm oil boiler ash on zeolite-chitosan adsorbents and their performance in absorbing the heavy metal Cu , Cr and Cd. The composite is made in solid form in gram units with variants of zeolite, chitosan and palm oil boiler ash first (2:0.5:0), second (1.6:0.5:0.4) third (1.4:0 .5:0.6) and fourth (1.2:0.5:0.8) respectively ZKA-0, ZKA-0.4, ZKA-0.6, ZKA-0.8. The results showed that the morphology of all adsorbents was observed to be rough with uneven grain sizes. In terms of crystallinity, the four samples show a hydroxyapatite lattice with a hexagonal crystal shape. From the adsorption test results, all adsorbent samples succeeded in reducing the concentration of heavy metals in wastewater. However, the most optimal adsorption performance was observed in ZKA-0.6, which showed the most significant reduction in heavy metal concentrations from the initial wastewater. The results show that the adsorption capacities of Cu, Cr, and Cd on ZKA-0.6 are 0.0151 mg/g, 0.0104 mg/g, and 0.0025 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption capacity with the addition of palm oil boiler ash showed a significant increasing trend in all samples with the addition of boiler ash, reaching a peak at ZKA-0.6.
