    Abstract
Kedukang fish (Hexanematichthys sagor) is one type of consumable fish that is widely caught by fishermen and the community. Catching kedukang fish in the Percut River, Deli Serdang Regency is carried out every day without limits. Uncontrolled exploitation can result in a decrease in fish stocks in the waters. This study aims to analyze the population by observed density, sex ratio, growth pattern, gonad maturity level and gonad maturity index of kedukang fish (Hexanematichthys sagor) in Percut River and analyze the relationship between physical-chemical factors of waters with population density of kedukang fish (Hexanematichthys sagor) in Percut River. Observations were carried out in the Percut River Waters from February to March 2023. Sampling using purposive sampling method at 3 research stations. Fish sampling was carried out by installing a net as many as 2 replicates at each station and at each replicate the net was left 1 hour in the water. The results showed that the highest population density value was found at station II at 0.123 ind/m2 and the lowest density was found at station I at 0.048 ind/m2. The sex ratio of male and female kedukang fish at each research station has an average of 1: 0.5. The growth pattern is negative allometric at all stations with a value of b < 3. The frequency distribution of the length of kedukang fish ranges from 21.5-47.9 cm. The most number of fish caught in the length range of 30.3-34.7 cm as many as 9 fish, while the lowest number was in the range of 21.5-25.9 cm as many as 2 fish. The highest level of gonad maturity is found at station II, which is as many as 8 fish. The gonad maturity index of kedukang fish in Percut River is in the range of 0.661-20.729. The average gonad maturity index of female kedukang fish is highest at the TPI location, which is 20.729%. The average fecundity of female kedukang fish is highest at station III which is 5690,6 while the lowest is at station I. The relationship between the population density of kedukang fish is very strong and positively correlated to DO, light intensity and nitrate. Population density of kedukang fish is strongly correlated and negatively related to pH and phosphate.
