Penentuan Dosis Optimum Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) pada Air Baku dengan Metode Jar Test di Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum (IPAM) Sunggal
Determining The Optimum Dose of Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) in Raw Water using The Jar Test Method at The Sunggal Drinking Water Treatment Plant (IPAM)
Abstract
An analysis of Determining the Optimum Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) Dosage in
Raw Water Using the Jar Test Method at the Sunggal Drinking Water Treatment
Plant (IPAM) has been carried out. This research aims to determine the optimum
dosage for using coagulants or chemicals in the coagulation-flocculation process at
the Sunggal Drinking Water Treatment Plant (IPAM). For this reason, researchers
carried out laboratory tests using the Jar Test method with Poly Aluminum Chloride
(PAC) coagulant. From the results of the analysis carried out for 1 month, the
optimum dose of Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) was obtained, namely 25 ppm with
a turbidity of 1,12 NTU, 20 ppm with a turbidity of 1,76 NTU, 15 ppm with a
turbidity of 1,51 NTU, 15 ppm with a turbidity of 1,62 NTU. From the results of the
analysis of determining the optimum dose of Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC)
obtained for one month, it meets the standards set by the Republic of Indonesia
Minister of Health Regulation No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, that the maximum
level allowed for physical parameters of turbidity is 5 NTU.
