Hubungan Karakteristik dan Kualitas Hidup Penderita Hipertensi dengan Tingkatan Hipertensi pada Lansia di Puskesmas Padang Bulan Tahun 2024

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where the systolic blood pressure is ≥140 mmHg with a diastolic pressure of 90 mmHg. Hypertension known as the silent killer because sufferers do not realize that they suffer from hypertension so this will causes the complications. The results of Riskesdas in 2018 stated that the prevalence of hypertension based on elderly age group are (45-54 year age group was 45,3 percent and 55-64 year old was 55,2 percent). The aim of the research is to determine the relationship of characteristics and quality of life of hypertensive sufferers with level of hypertension on elderly at Padang Bulan public health center in 2024. This type of research uses a cross sectional design. The number of research samples was 91 people using the Accidental Sampling technique. Univariate data is explained descriptively while bivariate data is explained using the chi square test. The results of the study showed that the highest proportion of hypertension level was (79,1%), the proportion based on respondent characteristics, namely the group aged ≥60 years was (71,4%) and age <60 years was (28,6%), female gender was (58,2%), the Batak ethnicity was (71,4%), the Protestant religion was (57,1%), the highest level of education was college about (44%), marital status with married was (54,9%), low income was (58,2%), and had complications was (87,9%). There is a relationship between complications (p=0,048), physical health domain (p=0,036) and environmental domain (p=0,009) with the level of hypertension in elderly people with hypertension at the Padang Bulan Public Health Center in 2024. There is no relationship between the psychological health domain (p= 0,601) and the social domain (p=0,472) with the level of hypertension in elderly people with hypertension at the Padang Bulan Community Health Center in 2024
