Objective: The study aims to analyze renal function on consolidation phase chemotherapy in standard risk pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted at H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan from July 2021 - June 2023. The subjects were ALL children who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subject were selected by consecutive sampling. Ureum and creatinine serum examinations were performed before and after MTX-HD chemotherapy. The difference test was performed using Wilcoxon signed rank test and the Friedman test with a significance value of p<0.05.
Results: A total of 30 subjects, girls were 53,3%, the median age was 4 years old. There were no significant difference in ureum and creatinine parameters between before and after MTX-HD chemotherapy with a p-value >0.05. The highest Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) was observed at 1st week of chemotherapy with a mean of 181.1 mL/min/1.73m2 and the lowest GFR at 5th week with a median value of 165.8 mL/min/1.73m2.
Conclusion: There was no significant difference renal function before and after consolidation phase chemotherapy.
