dc.description.abstract | Medical tourism is a trip out of town or abroad to obtain examinations, medical procedures, and/or other health examinations in hospitals. Each country will provide its own characteristics in both the tourism industry and the medical industry by utilizing their respective fields. The health service most sought after by the people of North Sumatra in Malaysia is the medical check up service. Medical check up service costs can reach a price range of IDR 800,000 – IDR 2,500,000. However, during medical tourism, the costs spent are not necessarily only for medical purposes, so an analysis is needed regarding the costs that a person can incur for medical tourism. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. This research is aimed at finding out the costs of medical tourism for medical check up services in Malaysia. The population in this research is the people of North Sumatra.
