Analysis of nitrogen determination in soil at the oil palm research center. This study aims to determine the level of nitrogen contained in soil samples. Nitrogen content of soil samples can determine the level of soil fertility. The determination of nitrogen levels in this analysis was carried out using the kjeldahl method. The principle of nitrogen determination with the kjeldahl method is that nitrogen in soil samples is hydrolyzed with concentrated sulfuric acid to form ammonium sulfate compounds. The product of the destruction, namely ammonium sulfate, is distilled in an alkaline atmosphere which is then collected with boric acid. The resulting distillate is titrated with sulfuric acid solution until a green to pink color change occurs. From the analysis, the nitrogen content of the soil is 0.07 - 0.19%. The results obtained can be concluded that the nitrogen content in the soil is low.en_US
