Peran Lembaga Rehabilitasi Pencegahan Penyalahgunaan Narkotika (LRPPN) Bhayangkara Indonesia dalam Penurunan Angka Penyalahgunaan Narkoba di Kota Medan

Abstract

Basically, narcotics have properties and are useful for use in the fields of medicine, health and medicine as well as being useful for developmental research, pharmaceutical science or pharmacology itself. Narcotics cause certain effects in the form of refraction, loss of pain, stimulation, excitement and hallucinations. The development of drug abuse is a very worrying problem and has a negative impact on families and the community. Not only individuals, perpetrators are affected, even the country's economy and social life are also affected. There are many factors behind individuals and groups using drugs, both in terms of themselves, where they are unable to adapt to the environment, family (parents), where there is a lack of attention and affection from parents, which makes children look for their own pleasure, peers, where invitations and encouragement are followed. with coercion, as well as the environment with its indifferent attitude towards the surrounding community. It is hoped that rehabilitation with various measures can help individuals affected by drugs to recover and reintegrate into society in a positive way. This research aims to determine the role of the Bhayangkara Indonesia Narcotics Abuse Prevention Rehabilitation Institute (LRPPN) in preventing drug abuse rates in Medan City. The main informants in this research were residents who were undergoing a rehabilitation period, totaling 3 people and students from schools who directly participated in the preventive stages or seminars to prevent drugs, totaling 2 people. Data collection techniques were carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. The data obtained will be processed using qualitative analysis and reach the conclusion that LRPPN Bhayangkara Indonesia is making rehabilitation efforts for drug addicts through several programs, namely counseling, group therapy and religious therapy. LRPPN Bhayangkara also carries out outreach between schools. As well as decreasing the percentage of new drug users and reducing the number of problematic drug users.
