dc.description.abstract | Technological advances and the use of the internet have become an integral part of everyday life. Social media is very popular, especially among teenagers, but it also brings negative impacts such as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying can cause stress, depression, and decreased academic performance. This study describes the form and impact of cyberbullying on the psychosocial condition of 2 adolescents in Padang Bulan Village, Medan City. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach that produces data in the form of written or spoken words from the subjects and actors observed and explained descriptively and not in the form of numbers. provides an overview of the forms and impacts of cyberbullying on the psychosocial conditions experienced by 2 adolescents in Padang Bulan Village, Medan City. Researchers found that adolescents in Padang Bulan Village, Medan City experienced cyberbullying in the form of mockery, physical humiliation, and spreading photos of shame. The forms include flaming, harassment, denigration, and outing. Perpetrators often secretly photographed victims, uploaded them, and hijacked victims' accounts. Psychosocial impacts: Psychological: Stress, anxiety, and depression. Social Impact: Withdrawal from social interactions, loss of self-confidence and both victims showed more aggressive behavior towards friends and family as a result of the negative emotions such as upset, sadness, and fear they experienced due to cyberbullying. The results suggest that adolescents should be wise in using social media, while parents are advised to understand, supervise and educate their children about social media. Open communication between both parties is important to prevent problems such as cyberbullying. | en_US |
