    Abstract
The high level of violence against children and women is a frequent social problem, one of the causes of which is social problems that occur in the family. This makes families unable to fulfill the needs of children optimally due to these socio-economic factors. Meanwhile, children in their development must get their needs in order to grow well in their environment. Including the need for affection felt by children who come from many family problems. One of the needs that is often ignored is the need for affection that should be obtained from the family but is not felt optimally. Therefore, the presence of the foundation in the midst of society takes part in fulfilling the affection needs of children in their social environment. This research was conducted at Rumah Pintar YAFSI which is a place for children's programs conducted by Yayasan Fajar Sejahtera Indonesia (YAFSI). The key informants in this research are the Chairperson of YAFSI, and two teaching staff of Rumah Pintar YAFSI. Key informants in this study are children aged 11-15 years who have participated in the program at YAFSI for more than a year. As well as additional informants in this study are parents of children, the community around the YAFSI Smart House and volunteers who join YAFSI. Data collection techniques were carried out by field studies, namely observation, interviews and documentation, as well as literature studies. The data obtained in the field is then analyzed by researchers who are explained qualitatively, until finally conclusions can be drawn from the results of this study. The results showed that YAFSI plays an active role in meeting the basic needs of children who have or have not received their basic needs optimally from their families through the Literacy Corner program observed through non-formal education at YAFSI. The results of children's basic needs met by YAFSI are in psychomotor or skills, children get new skills from literacy activities. In affection, children get emotional comfort and an attitude of belonging to the surrounding environment through the fulfillment of affection needs provided by YAFSI. Finally, children gain knowledge and character education so that children become more polite in their actions, words and children better understand the concept of citizenship.
