Peran Kelompok Tani Juma Uruk Ganjang dalam Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Petani di Desa Kutarayat

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group in improving the welfare of farmers in Kutarayat Village. Farmer groups basically act as a forum for teaching and learning for their members through counseling, training, and cooperation to increase knowledge, skills, attitudes and grow and develop independence in farming with increased productivity, increased income, and a more prosperous life. This research is important to find out how the role of the Juma Uruk Ganjang farmer group in the welfare of farmers in Kutarayat village. This research uses descriptive research method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, secondary data, documentation and literature studies. Furthermore, this study uses role indicators according to Rizz, House and Lirtzman (in Pratina, 2013) in the form of authority, responsibility, clarity of purpose, and scope of work. Furthermore, research informants consisted of divisions within the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group, Kutarayat Village Head, Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group Members and Kutarayat Village Farmers. The results of this study show that the role of the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group has not been able to realize the welfare of farmers in Kutarayat Village, this can be measured through role indicators according to Rizz, House and Lirtzman (in Pratina, 2013) where the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group has not carried out full responsibility for authority, carry out tasks and programs that have been developed by the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group, ranging from fulfilling fertilizer and seed subsidies, providing knowledge, training, utilizing technology, marketing information, as a production unit to carrying out widespread cooperation to meet and solve every problem faced by farmers in Kutarayat Village in managing their agricultural land. In addition, regarding the clarity of the objectives and scope of work, the Juma Uruk Ganjang Farmer Group has not been able to carry out its role properly so that there is still a lack of understanding and implementation related to the scope of work in each existing division so that it has not been able to achieve the target optimally.
