dc.description.abstract | Background: Samurai were a Japanese medieval military force. There are several very great Japanese samurai figures who have earned the title of legendary by Japanese society.
Objective: This research aims to explain one of the legendary Japanese samurai figures, namely Miyamoto Musashi, and the technique he succeeded in creating, namely Niten Ichi-ryu, as well as the influence of Miyamoto Musashi on Japan through his teachings and works.
Method: Data collection is based on qualitative methods with data collection based on literature values by collecting various sources of information and data related to the main issues discussed which are then summarized and explained in this final assignment.
Results: Miyamoto Musashi was a swordsman, philosopher, strategist, writer, and a ronin who was known for his unusual sword techniques and never lost in every fight he fought. Musashi is the inventor of a sword technique that uses two swords in both hands simultaneously called Niten Ichi-ryu or Nito Ichi-ryu. Musashi managed to write two books entitled Go Rin No Sho and Dokkodo which contain the teachings of discipline and sword techniques that he carried out for the younger generation to come. These two books have to this day become one of the life guides for Japanese society.
Conclusion: Miyamoto Musashi became one of the legendary samurai not only because of his great strength or the techniques he succeeded in creating, but also because of his discipline, strong determination and humility which made Miyamoto Musashi recognized as the strongest samurai in Japan. | en_US |
