dc.description.abstract | Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam that explains the specific obligation of spending part of an individual's wealth for social good. The impact of zakat on the benefit of society and the Islamic economy is very clear. Because in zakat itself there is an element of providing assistance to the poor, in addition to realizing general and important interests. The purpose of this study is to further streamline BAZNAS zakat assistance funds for the economic development of minority areas in North Sumatra at BAZNAS North Sumatra Province Branch. This research uses descriptive method. Data collection is done by conducting direct research, namely observation and historical data on the distribution of resources channeled from the BAZNAS North Sumatra Branch office. The result of the analysis is Efficiency in the use of BAZNAS zakat in encouraging economic development of minority areas in North Sumatra is not fully efficient due to the lack of efficient labor (HR) to minority areas so that it can result in data fraud, not flexible for the tasks that employees do and if there is a need for tasks outside the office that must survey the places of minority areas, Then the budget is limited, there are so many applicants (mustahik) who want to ask for help so BAZNAS needs to prioritize those who really need the zakat, this can be caused by lack of public awareness, collection mechanisms that are not optimal, or economic constraints that make people less able to give zakat. | en_US |
