A Description of Theme in The Movie Joker (2019)

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to talk about themes in the movie Joker. This paper aims to describe what themes are in the movie Joker and talk about what makes the characters in the movie support those themes. The theory used in this paper is the intrinsic theory as this paper will talk about the components that exist in a story, namely theme. The method used in describing this paper is a qualitative method. The data is collected using qualitative observation methods which include watching the movie and internet research. The findings of this paper from the movie Joker are “Life is not the greatest good, but Guilt is the greatest evil”. And lastly the result of this paper shows that there are Main themes and Supporting themes in movie Joker, and also what makes some characters support the movie, like how The Joker support the good vs evil theme, or how the antagonist of the movie Thomas Wayne support the injustice theme.
