The study analysed Free Fatty Acid and Iodine Value on Refined Bleached Deodorised
(RBD) Palm Olein at the Customs and Excise Laboratory Class II Medan. Free Fatty
Acid analysis was carried out by alkalimetric titration method and Iodine Value by
iodometric titration method. Based on the results of the research conducted obtained
Free Fatty Acid levels in RBD Palm Olein A, B and C with average levels are 0.06%,
0.07% and 0.10%. The Iodine Value of RBD Palm Olein A, B and C with average
values were 60.39 g I2/100 g, 59.35 g I2/100 g and 59.25 g I2/100 g, respectively. The
results of the analysis show that RBD Palm Olein already meets the Indonesian
National Standard (SNI). Based on SNI 01-0018-2006 the Free Fatty Acid content of
RBD Palm Olein is a maximum of 0.1% and the Iodine Numbers value is at least 56 g
I2/100 g.
