dc.description.abstractResearch focuses on describing figures of speech in several songs from the album "Different World" by Alan Walker. The theory used in this paper is Kennedy and Gioia's theory in the book Introduction to poetry. The method used is a qualitative method by collecting data through each song lyric and determining the types contained in each lyric, then finding the most dominant type in the song lyrics. The results of the research show that there are 39 data contained in figures of speech in the selected song through in album "Different World" by Alan Walker. This research hopes to increase awareness and appreciation of song lyrics and figures of speech used in these songs. In addition, this research is expected to be able to contribute as a medium for figures of speech learning because songs are loved by many people so that teaching will be interesting. Use regular phrases refer to something without saying it directly. The data were taken from Alan Walker Songs.en_US
