dc.description.abstractThis paper aims to describe the Javanese cultural tradition of a traditional ceremony performed after the baby's umbilical cord is removed, called the Puputan tradition ceremony. In writing this paper, the method used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used were literature study and interviews. In every process of the Puputan tradition ceremony has a symbolic meaning, which describes the hopes and prayers of parents for their babies. The Puputan tradition ceremony is a form of gratitude for the birth of a baby and asking God Almighty so that the baby is always given safety in his life.en_US
