Pre - Design of Calcium Manufacturing Factory Chloride from Blood Cockle Shell and HCL with a Capacity Of 7,600 Tons/Year and Duty Special Engineering Design Details of the Reactor Neutralization
Abstract
Calcium chloride (CaCl2) is a type of salt consisting of the elements calcium (Ca) and chlorine (Cl 2 ) which has many uses, including as a drying agent (dessicant), as an ice melting agent (de-icing) and pressure points. frozen, as a source of calcium ions and additives in the food industry. The need for calcium chloride is still imported from other countries with an average of 7.568 tons/year. Waste that has great potential in making calcium chloride is shell waste which contains high levels of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) (98%). Blood clams have been a source of income for
some coastal communities in Indonesia for many years, reaching an average of 94,246
tons/year. The Calcium Chloride factory is planned to produce with a capacity of 7,600
tons/year ( 959,590 kg/hour) and operate for 330 days a year. This factory is expected
to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported products and is targeted to export
Calcium Chloride.
The planned factory location is in the District Secanggang Regency Step up
North Sumatra Province with a required land area of 18,770 m 2 . The employee
required to operate the factory is 100 people. The planned business entity form is a
Limited Liability Company (PT) and the organizational form is a line organization.
