dc.description.abstractThis paper discusses the origin and genealogy of the Situmorang clan. The theory used in describing the phenomenon of the Situmorang clan is from how the history and genealogy of the Situmorang clan as a particular clan in Batak Toba.The method used in this writing is descriptive qualitative research, with data sources from books, journals, the internet and interviews with "paraja hata" (spokesperson). The results of this study indicate that in the past many Batak clans were born from incestuous relationships as in the legend of Siboru Pareme and what sanctions or social norms were accepted by the perpetrators of incest. The origin and genealogy of the Situmorang clan is also rich in moral values and social values. Clans are not only a form of determining descent but also as our identity.en_US
