Analysis of ash Content and Crude Fiber Contents in Brachiaria Ruziziensis at The Standard Testing Location of Small Ruminant Instruments Using The Method
Abstract
Ash content is an inorganic substance that does not burn out and does not
evaporate during the combustion process. The purpose of ash content is to check the
nutritional value of grass and the total minerals contained in grass where the method
used for ash content analysis is the gravimetric method. Fiber is one of the things that
cannot be digested by human digestive enzymes. Crude fiber is tha part of food that
cannot be hydrolyzed by the chemicals used to determine crude fiber content, namely
sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Analysisis of crude fiber levels is
very importan tbecause fiber is known to have many benefits for the body, such as
preventing constipation, preventing cancer, preventing painin the large intesstine and can
help reduce cholesterol levels. The aim was to analyze the crude fiber content is Brachiaria
ruziziensisgrass samples using the gravimetricreference and determine the crude fiber content in
Brachiaria ruzizienisisgrasssamples. Thefibercontentcan be used to analyzethe processingprocess
of grasssamples. Fiber can also be used to determine the nutritional value of a food
ingredient by carrying out a heating and drying process using the gravimetric method. The results
of the analysisof thepercent ash content obtained using Brachiaria ruziziensis samples were
8,3212%, 7,7972%, 7,7972% and percentage of crude fiber obtained using Brachiaria
ruziziensis grass samples were 28,66%.
