    Abstract
This research aims to analyze the formation of self-concept through group communication processes among Sikkola volunteers in Medan City. The theory used in this study is group communication theory. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques involving in-depth interviews and observations. The research informants consist of five active volunteers at Sikkola Rakyat and one triangulation informant as an expert source. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the volunteers and the triangulation informant, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis technique. Group communication within the Sikkola Rakyat organization influences member communication behavior through three main factors: conformity, social facilitation, and polarization. The results indicate that group communication at Sikkola Rakyat plays a crucial role in the formation of the volunteers' self-concept. The group communication involves descriptive and prescriptive communication that supports self-development, decision-making, and task completion. The functions of group communication include fostering close social relationships and providing support in problem-solving. Volunteers at Sikk ola Rakyat form primary groups with close relationships and high solidarity, as well as formally recognized membership groups. This helps them become more confident and motivated to continue developing.
