A Description of The Main Character in The Film Pele Birth of A Legend

Abstract

This paper describe the character of the main character and the process of achieving success in the film "Pele Birth of a Legend". Edgar V. Roberts' theory helps in identifying and understanding various aspects of characterization applied to the character Pelé. The results of the study show that the character of the main character is described through physical characteristics and has an adventurous, brave, confident, inspiring, talented in ginga football style, and a fighter. In addition, Jack Ma's theory of the key to success is applied to evaluate Pelé's journey from a talented young man to a world football legend. The results of the study show that Pelé's character is described by Pele's process towards success is described as a struggle to learn from mistakes, motivation and innovation, hard work and persistence that makes Pele achieve success. The method used by the author in this study is a qualitative descriptive method (qualitative research) and also a library research method. The data source in this study is the film "Pele Birth of a Legend". from the results of this description it is concluded that the description of the main character's character provides deeper insight into how fictional characters can be described and understood through a theoretical approach.
