Penentuan Persen Komposisi Air, Lumpur, dan Minyak Kelapa Sawit pada Heavy Phase Unit Decanter di PKS PT. Multimas Nabati Asahan (Wilmar Group)

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine the percent composition of water, sludge, and palm oil in the heavy phase of the decanter unit at POM PT Multimas Nabati Asahan. This study aims to determine the percent composition of water, sludge, and palm oil in the heavy phase of the decanter unit and can determine oil losses in the unit. The analysis methods used in this research are a gravimetric method and a soxhletation extraction method including sampling, calculation of water content, oil content, and dirt content in the heavy phase of the decanter unit. From the results of the research conducted, the percent composition of water content in the heavy phase decanter unit tested for 3 days was obtained, namely 91.18% for the first day, 88.32% for the second day, and 87.61% for the third day. The percent composition of oil content in heavy phase unit decanter, namely 0.89% for the first day, 0.80% for the second day, and 0.57% for the third day, and the percent composition of sludge content in heavy phase unit decanter, namely 9.12% for the first day, 12.48% for the second day, and 12.96% for the third day. The analysis shows that the moisture content, sludge content, and palm oil content are by the standards set by PT Multimas Nabati Asahan.
