Employees are valuable assets for an organization. In the process of achieving company
goals, productivity is an important thing that must be considered. One of the efforts to
increase employee productivity is to pay attention to the level of work engagement that exists
among employees in the company. This research was conducted to examine the effect of
diuwongke on work engagement with a positive affect as a mediating variable for plantation
employees. The data collection method used the work engagement, diuwongke, and positive
affect scales adapted from previous researchers and distributed to 368 respondents.
Hypothesis testing uses a quantitative approach with the SEM PLS (structural Equation
Modeling Partial Least Squares) method through the SmartPLS bootstrapping application.
The results showed that there was a positive influence between variables. Diuwongke has a
positive effect on positive affect and work engagement, then positive affect can partially
mediate the influence of diuwongke on work engagement, meaning that diuwongke can
influence work engagement through or without positive affect. The implication of the results
of this research is that it is hoped that companies can maintain a positive attitude to
strengthen employees' perceptions of diuwongke to increase employee work engagement.
