Pengaruh Perbandingan Sosial terhadap Citra Tubuh Dimoderasi oleh Gratitude pada Perempuan Dewasa yang Bermain Instagram

Abstract

Instagram is very popular among people, including early adult women. Instagram is a social media platform that displays photos and videos, so many show photos or videos with ideal bodies. Having an ideal body is the desire of every woman. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of social comparison on body image moderated by gratitude in adult women who play Instagram. This study used purposive sampling technique and involved 384 respondents who were adult women who played Instagram. Data collection uses three scales, namely the social comparison scale, body image scale, and gratitude scale. The analysis technique used in this study is moderation regression analysis. The results showed that there is a small influence between social comparison and body image in adult women who play Instagram, and gratitude provides a moderating effect that strengthens the influence of social comparison on body image.
