dc.description.abstract | The research carried out aimed to determine the quality of CPO (Crude
Palm Oil) at PT Kharisma Marketing Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Belawan Unit
based on chemical parameters. The chemical parameters explained in this research
are air content analysis and free fatty acid (ALB) analysis. Air content analysis
begins by inserting the frying pan sample into the moisture analyzer, then adding 5
grams of CPO sample to the frying pan sample, waiting until the tool beeps
indicating the air content is constant. In the free fatty acid level analyzer, start by
weighing an empty Erlenmeyer flask then set to 0, then weigh ±3 grams of CPO,
then add 50 mL of alcohol, then add 2-3 drops of 1% phenolpthalein indicator, then
titrate with 0.0898 KOH solution. Which is marked by a change in orange color
and the results are recorded. From the measurement results, calculations were then
carried out on samples T34, T64 and T43 so that the results obtained for analyzing
the air content at PT KPBN were 0.26%, 0.24% and 0.24%, and the free fatty acid
content at PT KPBN was 3 .81%, 3.02%, and 3.56%,. In accordance with SNI 01-
2901-2021 concerning Crude Palm Oil, the water content is 0.25-0.50% and the
free fatty acid content is 3.0-5.0%. From the results of these calculations, the water
content of the three samples has met SNI quality standards. | en_US |
