Penentuan Kadar Asam Lemak Bebas dan Kadar Air Pada CPO ( Crude Palm Oil ) Sebelum dan Sesudah Vacuum Dryer pada Pengolahan Kelapa Sawit di PT. Multimas Nabati Asahan (Wilmar Group)

Abstract

Analysis have been carried out to determine changes in the levels of free fatty acids and water content of the CPO ( crude palm oil ) before and after vacuum dryer on palm oil processing in PT. Multimas Nabati Asahan Kuala Tanjung. Free fatty acid was determined by alkalimetri titration using the standard solution of 0.1 N NaOH and phenolphthalein indicator while the water content wasdetermined by gravimetric method through evaporation. The analysis showed thatprior to vacuum dryer FFA (Free Fatty Acid ) levels were obtained at 3.45%, while after treatment dryer vacuum of 3.40%, which means a change in FFA levels of 0.05%. Furthermore, water content was obtained before treatment dryer vacuum of 0.91% and after vacuum driyer Yag 0.46% moisture content means a change of 0.45%. And this result showed water content still meets SNI standart
