Analisis Mutu Kernel Produksi di PT. PP. London Sumatra Indonesia Begerpang Palm Oil Mill

Abstract

Kernel Quality Analysis has been carried out at PT.PP.London Sumatra Indonesia Begerpang Palm Oil Mill. In the analysis of kernel quality levels, water content, dirt content and free fatty acid content (FFA) are determined. The research methods used to determine water content are the evaporation method using an oven, the winowwing method for determining dirt content and the alkalimetric titration method for determining free fatty acid levels (FFA). From the results of research carried out three times, it was obtained that the average water content of the kernel was 6.6397% and for the quality standard the water content set by BSN through SNI- 01-002-1987 was < 8% and for the Begerpang Palm Oil Mill factory standard is 8%. The average impurity content obtained from the kernel is 7.5664% and for the quality standard the impurity content at the Begerpang Palm Oil Mill factory is 8%. The average free fatty acid (FFA) content obtained from the kernel is 0.2693% and for the Begerpang Palm Oil Mill factory quality standard is 0.30%. From the results of this analysis it can be concluded that the water content, dirt content and free fatty acid content (FFA) of the analyzed kernels all meet the requirements as set by the Begerpang Palm Oil Mill factory
