Fresh water is a very important need for humans. One of the tools that can be a solution to overcome the increasing need for fresh water is a solar still. One of the main components in the solar still that contributes greatly to the effectiveness of the solar still is the absorber plate. However, currently no one has conducted an in-depth analysis of the effect of absorber plate temperature variations on the productivity and heat transfer of solar stills numerically using CFD simulations. Therefore, this study analyzes the effect of absorber plate temperature variation on solar still performance using CFD simulation. The model used is a solar still with a 30-degree slope with absorber plate temperature variations of 50°C, 60°C and 70°C. Gravity, transient method, multiphase, heat transfer and mass transfer are considered in the simulation. The simulation results found that the absorber plate temperature greatly affects the productivity and heat transfer that occurs in the solar still. At an absorber plate temperature of 50 °C, it will produce a condensation water productivity rate of 1.05 grams/minute and a total heat transfer of 43.90 watt. so that increasing the absorber plate temperature to 60 °C, and 70 °C will increase the condensation water productivity by 96%, and 142%, respectively. And by increasing the absorber plate temperature to 60°C, and 70°C will increase the total heat transfer rate by 37.81% and 71.91% respectively.en_US
