E-commerce has become an integral part of the lifestyle of modern society. Seeing the growing development of e-commerce applications, companies need to know consumer perceptions about the usefulness of their own application services and on the side of competitors in order to improve quality. Application reviews from the Google Play Store are a source of research data where the main actors are Tokopedia and Bukalapak. Reviews are then categorized into positive, negative and neutral sentiments. The results of the Mann-Whitney test show that there is a significant difference between the negative sentiment of reviews on Tokopedia and Bukalapak. The values of W=9948 for Tokopedia and W=1929W = 1929W for Bukalapak, with a p-value of <2.2e−16 for both platforms, suggest that the differences between the two review groups were not random. This confirms that there is a real difference in the negative sentiment received by these two platformsen_US
