Hide and seek is one of the most popular games among children, and is often played in recreational events. In an effort to bring the experience to be more attractive, this research aims to design a hide-and-seek game that uses Virtual Reality (VR) technology by utilizing artificial intelligence, namely A* pathfinding. In this design, VR is used to create a realistic 3D environment so that players can feel the sensation as if the player is really in the hide and seek room, besides that, the utilization of the use of artificial intelligence with the A* pathfinding algorithm can provide the ability for animated characters to develop the best strategy in finding or finding players who are hiding. The development method in this game involves the stages of VR environment design, implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm, interface integration for VR users, and testing the performance and responsiveness of the game that has been developed on the target user. The results of testing that have been carried out on users get an accumulated positive response of 85,49% to all aspects of questions about the application that has been tested and made.
